Making the Past Accessible in the Present
Crane Museum of Papermaking is embarking on its first major archiving project since the museum’s founding in 1930. After 90 years, we are re-examining the archives, modernizing the storage with an eye towards preservation and creating a digital catalogue for documents dating back to the American Revolution.
We are thrilled to welcome Charlotte M., our archiving intern! Charlotte is currently earning her master’s degree in Public History at UMass. She will be reading every scrap of beautiful Crane paper in the museum archives, and helping us to organize our collection, making all of the fantastic historical documents and items more accessible.
