This Week’s Archive Find: Etchings printed from intaglio plates from the first western published book on paper manufacturing, Art de Faire le Papier by Jérôme de la Lande, Paris, 1761.
These were printed by intaglio plates that were made in 1698. They were black and white in the 1761 publication, and likely hand colored in the 20th century by a print dealer.
