Although best known as a game company, Milton Bradley & Co. started out in 1860 as a lithograph company (printing). His first game invention was the ’Checkered Game of Life’ which is said to have sold over 40,000 games by the spring of 1861. ‘The Game of Life’ is still produced by Hasbro which purchased Milton Bradley in 1984.
